Painting: Technique and Intuition

How do we expand our technical prowess and at the same time stay open to spontaneity? Painting is a combination of mindfulness and getting out of your own way. Action and intent. In this 7 session class, we will explore the artistic techniques of Rembrandt and contemporary artists Per Adofsen, Nina Katchadourian, and Andy Curlowe. Through four weekly assignments that feature a limited color palette, drawing, glazing and conceptual intent, artists will expand their own proficiency while discovering new inspiriting artists. The final two weeks will be spent on an individually directed painting based on a new perspective or approach you gleaned from class. FUN ALERT!!! these classes have a big fun factor and a great community of support.
