Yazda, the global Yazidi organization that I have been partnering with for the Conflict Zone project will join me this year at stARTup Houston October 11-13, 2019. StARTup is an unconventional art fair driven by and for artists rather than galleries. Taking a pop-up residence in boutique hotels in San Francisco, Houston and Los Angeles, their aim is to directly connect art collectors to exceptional artists from across the country. As a nonprofit partner, Yazda will have a room to exhibit the collaborative monoprints created by Yazidis from Iraq who are living in Houston. Their mission to to secure a safe future for the Yazidi community after the ISIS led genocide. I am thrilled to be able to help get their message out through art.
